Bicycle Partnership Program

I-CE visit to Florianopolis, 27-29 September 2009
An I-CE delegation of Roelof Wittink (I-CE director) and Giselle Xavier (I-CE Resident Representative) were invited by vice mayor of Florianopolis Joao Nunes.

A meeting was held with a number of staff of the Florianopolis City Council, the head of IPUF, Andre Soares and Della from the civil society organisation ViaCiclo, and the Pro-Reitor of Udesc Paulino de Jesus Francisco Cardoso. During the meeting presentations were held on the significance of cycling. Among the issues discussed were the allocation of resources to cycling projects and the need for a structured consultation between the different stakeholders and a professional inclusion of ViaCiclo by the city to develop policies.
