Work visit to Rio de Janeiro, 24 and 25 September 2009
During a work visit of I-CE director Roelof Wittink to Rio de Janeiro, the ambitions of Rio, de World Cup and the bid for the Olympic Games were discussed with Julio Lopes, the Secretary of Transport of the State of Rio.

Furthermore, Roelof Wittink, I-CE's Resident Representative Ze Lobo, and I-CE expert Warner Vonk had meetings with the staff of the city, including the cycling coordinators and the vice secretary for Environment. One of the topics was the mayoral conference in Copenhagen during the climate summit in December 2009. On behalf of the mayor of Copenhagen Roelof Wittink brought this conference to the attention of mayor Paes and vice mayor Muniz. They showed interest to participate, in particular in a session which will be devoted to the promotion of cycling policies.
